Run Oriel grants across Africa: find strong teams early, guide them through each round and follow their milestones.

What you will do

  • Find and review applications from teams in Lagos, Nairobi, Accra and beyond
  • Run the call with each team and write the review for the council
  • Check milestones and release payments with the treasury team

What we look for

  • Three years or more in grants, venture or developer programs
  • A network among builders in at least two African markets
  • Clear written English; French is a plus

Protocol researcher

CHF 130k to 155k

Work on the open problems under Oriel: fee markets, light clients and safer payment channels. Every paper you write is open access.

What you will do

  • Pick a problem with the research council and publish on it twice a year
  • Turn results into specs and code with the core developers
  • Review papers and proposals from the fellowship program

What we look for

  • A PhD or published work in cryptography, distributed systems or economics
  • Code you can show, in Rust, Go or Python
  • Patience explaining hard ideas to engineers

Developer advocate

€70k to €84k

Help developers ship their first app on Oriel: write the guides, run office hours and bring their feedback to the core team.

What you will do

  • Write and keep up the guides, starter kits and sample apps
  • Run weekly office hours and the Lisbon meetups
  • Bring what developers struggle with to the core team every two weeks

What we look for

  • Two years or more building and shipping web or smart contract apps
  • Writing or talks you can link to
  • Portuguese or Spanish is a plus
