The story

Why Tillpoint exists

Tillpoint began behind the counter of a taquería in Mexico City, where a founder's uncle paid rent on a card terminal every month plus 3.5% on every sale. The team wanted the phone he already owned to take payments for less than a cent each.

The round 6 grant pays for tap to pay on Android, sales that work offline and settle when the signal returns, and a daily payout to a peso bank account, due in December. Today 900 stores use Tillpoint, most of them food stalls and corner shops.
