The story

Why Passmark exists

Passmark grew out of a 2024 research fellowship held by its founder, Corinne Baumann, after her bank asked for the same passport scan for the fourth time in a year. She wanted a check that an app could verify once and never keep the document.

The fellowship paid for a year of research that ended in a paper and a proof library other apps can call. Today 48 partner apps accept a Passmark check. This quarter a $210,000 research grant is turning Samir Haddad's April paper on selective disclosure into production code.
