Why payments
Oriel was built for everyday payments, and the teams that use it that way grow fastest. Tessel has 140,000 wallets, Paywire 2,300 shops and Tillpoint 900 stores. Round 7 asks for more of that work.
How grants are sized
Grants run from $25k to $250k, paid in two to four tranches as milestones ship. At an average of $130,000, the grants line covers about 21 teams. Two foundation reviewers and one community reviewer read every application.
What the rest pays for
$250,000 pays for security reviews of funded wallets before they reach mainnet users. A $160,000 reserve covers milestones that run over, and $40,000 pays community reviewers for their time. Anything unspent when the last milestone is paid returns to the treasury.
