Why now
The bridge has carried $1.4B since launch without an incident. The first audit covered the version that went live in 2025; three upgrades have shipped since. Raising the limit without a fresh review would put four times more money behind code that only one firm has read.
What the audit covers
The light-client verifier, the token vault, the upgrade path and the pause switch. The auditor publishes the full report, including issues we fix before it is released.
How the money is spent
Paid in two tranches: half when work starts, half when the public report is out. Any unused budget returns to the treasury.
